Spring Cleaning for the Body, Mind, and Spirit
The theme for this month’s Positive Living posts address spring cleaning for the body, mind, and spirit. Each season has its own meaning and spring is a perfect time to reflect upon what has accumulated in your life during the long cold months of winter. It is time to take inventory and see what is going well and what is no longer serving you.
To make room for the new, it is important to clear clutter. Clearing clutter means not only material things from your home or office, but thoughts from your mind. It is time to let go of self-doubt and criticism and add thoughts of confidence and love. Your mind is like a garden so be sure to plant seeds of positivity including kindness for yourself, others, and the world.
You may wish to release hurts from the past and forgive those that hurt you. Be sure to forgive yourself for past mistakes and use lessons learned as stepping- stones for growth. Set meaningful boundaries with others. If there are people in your life creating unhealthy situations, you may want to distance yourself from them and cultivate uplifting friendships.
Since April is also Stress Awareness month, remember that it is how you respond to everyday situations that increases stress. Act on facts rather that hearsay and get answers to questions; this puts you in control to choose how you will address your circumstances. Always believe that good things are in store for you because you are creating them through your positive thoughts.
Besides clearing out, spring is a time for adding healthy things to your life. Connect with nature by walking each day, consume more water, and add fresh foods to your diet. Reevaluate your priorities and find what makes you happy. Appreciate the little things in life and act from the heart.
Wishing you warmth and beauty this season.
Blessings,
Lora
