An imbalance between the mind and the body can be caused by negative emotional states of being and accompanied by stress, thereby causing symptoms of illness that are a wake-up call for you to begin to take positive action for your good health. In addition to stress, studies show that resentment and anger can cause illness, so it is necessary for you to work on forgiveness.
You can learn to respond to stressful situations in your life by changing your beliefs, language, and actions. For example, if you think or say something negative such as, “I feel awful,” “It just isn’t my day,” or “I’m always sick,” then you may experience some of this negativity because your thoughts and words begin to create reality as your subconscious mind takes things literally. Your subconscious cannot differentiate between what is real and what you are thinking simply because the subconscious does not analyze or dispute, it absorbs like a sponge. To choose health, begin by making a positive commitment to yourself to think healthy thoughts such as “I feel great!” even if you don’t, because as your subconscious mind works it will begin to accept your thoughts and words as reality, and yes, you will begin to feel great. Look in the mirror and say, “I am in perfect health.” Your subconscious mind will begin to reprogram itself and you will start to feel healthier physically and/or emotionally day after day.
Make a daily positive commitment to choose healthy thoughts, eating habits, and a simple exercise program. Take care of your body because unlike your automobile, it is the only one you will have. Choose natural wholesome foods to eat such as whole-grain breads, fruits, and vegetables. Eat proteins in the form of chicken, fish, or beans. Exercise at least three times per week for 30 minutes each session. Show respect for your body by honoring its needs of nutrition, rest, and positive living.
Next, keep your mind focused on important things such as your family, work, and home. Learn to organize and set time aside for you, for fun, and for relaxing activities. You may enjoy walking or going to the gym, doing yoga, or gardening. Whatever you choose, find a way to improve each day with small positive experiences. As you build on these small steps you will begin to bring goodness and health into your own life. See yourself at a practical weight, perhaps being able to get off of insulin or other medications due to your improved lifestyle. You may be on chemotherapy or kidney dialysis, and you should visualize the treatments as helping you to get stronger and producing healthy cells in your body. Recognize learning and change as opportunities; always do your best in all situations and praise yourself for your accomplishments. Peace of mind and good health are yours; the choice is always yours.
Blessings,
Lora
